Working under the gender-neutral acronym "E.A. KAHANE," she transforms images into immersive encounters that expand photography beyond its traditional boundaries. Kahane's work is rooted in a lifelong photographic practice shaped by curiosity, travel, and a deep engagement with place. Whether capturing Central Park, African wildlife, Italian landscapes, car races, or New York parades, her images reveal a recurring sensibility: beauty intertwined with joy, movement, and human connection.
Her installations integrate light, sculpture, video, and custom-designed objects—light boxes, furniture, murals, and silk screens—inviting viewers to step into the images rather than simply observe them. Kahane divides her time between New York, Rhode Island, Florida, and Brescia, Italy. When not in the studio, she can often be found traveling, sailing, or designing new ways for viewers to physically enter and engage with photographic images.
