InfoFrom E.A. KAHANE: “Taking still life images has long been a passion of mine. The Lotus Still Life series features pond flowers from my Japanese garden, photographed in 2017. Set within an Arts & Crafts interior, the Japanese ceramic vases with silver inlay sit atop an antique American wicker table with a copper top, whose reflective surface lends the images a soft, dreamy quality. These floral portraits were created for the summer season in Newport, Rhode Island.” These photographs were included in the exhibition “Flower Power”, on view at Jessica Hagen Fine Art in the Summer of 2021. The artist is currently using these floral images as the basis for lush, decorative rugs, which are being produced in Brescia, Italy.
